After engine wash: squeeking sound

THis is irritating. to start the year clean, i sprayed STP enginee degreaser (2 cans) all over the engine...i covered most electrical parts with plastic and the air filter. then i hosed most mechanical parts with water. today, there is squeeking. my guess is that the idler bearing got wet with water.



i've repaced the drive belt 10,000 km ago together with the bearings and another pulley. any ideas?

More than likely your alternator is wet. Give it some time to dry out and see what happens...

Uh huh... let it dry and then all should be well. If not a belt & alt should be the trick.

i put some wd40 on the tensioner bearing. i seemed it worked. i'l give it a few days to test thanks for the replies!
