aftermarket radio to factory sub

Has anyone successfully wired an aftermarket radio up to the factory sub?

Just curious if it is possible - so as to not waste anymore time trying. I can only get one loud THUMP when I turn the unit on.

All the radio wires were cut by the previous owner (@$%&*$!), so I had to hard-wire everything. The radio and 4 speakers work just fine, but the bass is really wimpy.

I called Ford, gave them the VIN, they said my 04 Trac originally had a 6cd audiophile system.

You should be able to. I'm not at home and don't have access to the wiring diagram but mybe someone else will chime in that has it.

Yes, I had it done at a stereo shop. New head unit and they did something with the wires to keep the sub running. But I haven't a clue what they had to do to get it done... all I know is it works.
