All Over the East Coast,
Does anyone know if this harness will allow a new headunit to access the stock amp/sub? I'm not in the market for a new sub (I don't need it to hit that hard), and if possible, would like to continue using it. The description notes that it has RCAs for signalling the sub, but has anyone used this specific or a similar harness?

Thanks.

i dont know the answer to this one, but after i got my alpine iva310 installed at my local stereo shop. i had to pay a little extra for a special wiring harness to go from the HU to my factory Adrenalin amp and it is something just like this. i couldnt tell ya what they used, but it is something very much like this. reason i needed something like this harness, is b/c my factory amp goes to all my door speakers and my sub. sorry for not the answer you were looking for. that was the couple of pennies i just had to donate.

Yes, there are aftermarket radio harnesses out there that will allow you to interface the factory subwoofers, and also control them as long as the new radio has a SUB control. The new Ford harness controls the Audiophile system sub in the new SportTrac.

If you've got a 00-05 Sport Trac, you'll likely be looking for a harness, 70-5519, manufactured by a company called Metra. You'll know when you see it. It'll have the regular radio plug, and the other plug will have two black/white wires, two blue/white wires, and a pair of red & white RCAs.
