Air Conditioning

I noticed on my 03 Sport Trac that even when the control is not on Air I hear the compressor kicking on and off intermittently, Is this normal? Usually I hear it on all setting I know defrost usually does it but I didn't think other setting should. Buy the way this is a great site

Normal operation.



Ford decides that circulating the A/C compressor is a good idea almost no matter the position of the air selection knob, and doesn't give you the option of manually turning off the dang thing.

A/C doen't run on floor or panel mode.

Maybe they should add that feature to the transfer case.......My 91 Ranger had the compressor go south in it ,didn't use it much. Up here in the great white don't get to use the a/c very much..........only to cool the beer.

It should not run in the off position either.
