I don't doubt it one bit, really. It only makes sense as the next logical step in making the Explorer more comfortable and street friendly. First came the independent rear suspension, then a more cushy interior with more sound deadening, etc. Ford'll still have the Expedition... Who knows, Ford may be making room to introduce a more off-road based SUV. A few years back Ford phased out the 'EDGE' name on the Ranger, just so they could later use the name 'Edge' for a new vehicle.
