Anyone ever use Amsoil in the sport trac, instead of royal purple or any other brand of oil???

6.80 a qt... cheaper than royal purple

heard amsoil was the best tho......:huh::unsure:

Always a personal preference between brands and "synth" vs. "dino" lubricants.

I have to agree with Todd Z. Unless you require extended, (over 5K) miles between changes, save your $$$ and use conventional oil. Using a high quality oil filter is a priority. Do some research.

Caymen uses amsoil. He says, the service life is very good.

IMO, I think for street service. Any syn is good for extended service. I just went to syn. Castrol with a K&N filter for $24. I will probably buy whatever syn is on sale, when I get close to change time.

Don't use the motor oil, but I have amsoil atf in my tranny. Did a complete flush and replaced with amsoil. Corrected my breif episode of the 2-3 flare.

A mechanic friend of mine swears by it and many people believe it's the best stuff on earth...

I wouldn't mind switching over to the motor oil as well, but it's over 2.00 more per quart than RP in my locale.

Been using it since my Trac was between 6 and 10 thousand miles. I change it once a year. She is now at 101,000 miles and runs perfect.

Same with me. As a matter of fact I'm over on time, need to change my oil. Also use amsoil oil filter, they guarantee it to last a year if you use their filter(if I remember right). Filters for the ST are expensive tho, around $18 a filter. btw just rolled over 100,000 last week. Bought a couple of gallons off ebay this spring along with some amsoil atf that I plan on switching out before winter. I use the 0w-30 in my ST.

Check on ebay, sometimes you can find a deal there.

Check the website and spend the $10 to become a preferred customer and you can buy it at wholesale. It pays for itself in no time. I've used nothing but Amsoil in all my vehicles including 2 Sport Tracs, street bikes, and race bikes for almost a decade. They also sell Mothers products too so you can get your cleaning supplies at a discount. NGK spark plugs too. They guarantee the oil for a year or 25k miles if you use their filters. There's no reason to use anything else in my opinion. It really is great stuff. Check around for independent lab results of testing against any of the bigger name brands.

I've been using Amsoil in my '05 for a couple of years. No problems, car runs like a champ. Also using Amsoil ATF. I am happy with it.
