Ancestry DNA?
Just curious if anyone here has any experience with Ancestry DNA. I've been on Ancestrydotcom for a few years and have quite a bit of history that I've backed up with quite a bit of family paperwork I have. I do have some minor descrepancies and did remove a link to Pocahontas that it took me to in error. I plan on breaking out all the family paperwork this winter and running back through all the online links to re-clarify and re-verify.
I was thinking of running the Ancestry DNA on my wife and I to see what pops up out of the past..LOL! I wouldn't have thought twice but since the NSA, IRS and other Government agencies scandals about collecting data on most all of us, I'm a little skeptical. I'm usually the paranoid one when it comes to the Government BUT my wife asked me if that would really be a good thing to have your DNA "out there"? She has made me think twice so I would like your feedback, experience.
I did email them and asked them about this issue and they replied " Thank you for contacting Ancestry.com in regard to verifying that we will not provide any AncestryDNA information to the US government." Somehow I still have reservations...
