Besides that fact that they taste good.

A big doe ran in front of my wife's car. Fortunately, I found a hood that's already the right color, and a grill and headlight. I changed the parts out Saturday.

I'm glad it didn't go through the windshield. I told my coworkers to have some room in their freezers this fall, 'cause I'm hoping to bag the limit.

I might have :D , but she was driving and alone in a dark spot of the boonies. She said she didn't even stop.

I don't know how they are in your neck of the woods but in the area of Illinois & Iowa that I drive on a daily basis they are a year round problem. They need to raise the limit or extend the season or both.

Hit the Doe so hard her antlers fell off??? Must have been one of those hermaphrodite does!

:lol::lol: I was wondering if anyone would notice. That rack is from a buck I bagged last year. He was yummy.

Yeah, good idea, kill all of them. DA

Or maybe just thin them down a bit when they're so over poplulated that they're jumping all over the place. There are precious people in those precious cars and the cute little furry deer can and do occasionally go through the windshields of the precious cars and kill the precious people.

Poor deer. Stupid, precious car.

Awwww. Poor deer. Good thing there wasn't someone sitting in the precious car's passenger seat.

the deer population is large in minnesota that they now issue and all season permit where i live = bow hunting in october, centerfire rifle in mid-november and black powder into december.

plus you can purchase up to 4 additional permits at half price. i am able to take 5 deer that way. still too many deer due to low hunting pressure.

It's gotten real bad in the Texas hill country. People are constantly hitting them with their vehicles and cannot have anything growing their yards. The problem is there are homes everywhere so they can't really allow hunting.

In Arkansas there aren't too many "big" deer....

Hoping to bag my first one ever later this year. Been saying that for 3 years now. Course I need to get out to a spot where I have any chance of seeing them....

I've lost a couple friends in motorcycle vs. deer accidents so I'm all for extended hunting seasons to shoot some extra critters!

Two years ago, I had my first deer accident in nearly 30 years of driving. I hit 3 of them at one time (one buck + 2 does) all standing in the middle of the highway when I came around a blind curve!

Luckily I was driving my 3/4 ton Ram and literally ran over 2 of them and tossed the other one in the ditch! Talk about a HUGE speed bump in the road! The only damage the truck had was a slightly bent bumper bracket that was easily repaired with a big hammer.

It's probably not often that Dad wrecks son's car, but I hit a deer about a month ago driving my son's Mustang. The door was worse than it looks in the photo.

However I do not hunt deer even though I live in PA where there are millions of them, because deer hunting involves being outdoors in the cold.

If I could hunt them from the beach, on a lounge chair under an umbrella, then we're talking.

Thing in PA is, along with the population loss there are less hunters every year too.

Man is still a predatory species even if some people don't want to admit it. Most people's eyes are in the front of their head just like all other predators. :D

At least those precious little bambies have a chance to live a natural life, unlike the cow that was raised in a pen with its sole reason for existing being to provide meat for someone's table.

Someone hit a MOOSE here in CT yesterday. The driver is in critical condition. The DEP was chasing it around trying to dart it and it ran onto the Merritt Parkway in New Canaan. They are unheard of in this state.
