Paul,
You can count me in for next year, regardless of where it happens to be.
As for the complainers, I agree that perhaps more people would have made it to the meet if it was back in Louisville, KY instead of Dallas, TX. It was too far to drive for some people and would have been economically impractical. If you could not attend, then so be it, just don't complain about it and don't give all the BS excuses why you did not attend.
To say the people did not attend Dallas was because they wanted to give people on the west coast a chance to attend is nuts. Neither the east coast or west coast was given any more preference to attend. Ford wanted to change it to The end of September in Dallas. People screamed for a more central location and they still did not attend. I had even suggeestied a few years ago that the location be changed every year so it would be easier for everyone to make it to one of the national meets. I was informed then that it would always be in Louisville, KY since that is where the Sport Trac's are made, and we get a lot of support from Ford in Louisville.
Personally, I don't care where it's at. I will attend if I can, and won't if I can't. I appreciate Fords efforts in the past, but I feel we should set our own agendas for these national meets even if Ford would prefer a different time or location, we should be big enough to just say "No". It's a Sport Trac meet organized by www.mysporttrac.com. we have had regioal meets that had 20 Sport Trac's attend without any support from Ford. Byan may have jumped in at the last minute to help pull off the Dallas meet, but I will say that if anyone was to blame, it was Ford.
I was also a bit uneasy about hearing that Ford was disappointed at the turn-out. An that the lack of Sport Trac owners attending the meet may force them to give us less support in the future. That may be the best thing to happen yet.
