Does anyone know if there is a blue top or blue colored battery for the Trac besides the Optima? I know I can use the Optima Blue Top 34M but I am looking for a direct fit replacement. I have seen red, gold, yellow, green etc. but not blue. I am trying to stay with the blue theme :p and it is almost time for a new battery.

Thanks,

George

The blue optima will fit. I have one in mine. You will just have to find the mounts for it because they only come with the red and yellow.

"The D34M (above) is identical to the D34 except that in addition to SAE top posts the D34M also has 5/16" stainless steel threaded "wing nut" hookup posts"

Scroll down to OPTIMA® Dual Purpose Deep Cycle & Starter Batteries and take a look.

Autozone has Duralast brand marine batteries that have blue tops. Not sure if they have an exact fit 65 series but they cost 1/3 as much as a Blue Top Optima would.

I think a drive to Autozone is in order....

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the responses. I was doing more checking and found out a few things...

-Optima has blue tops in both marine starting and marine deep cycle.

-Exide Orbitals have blue tops but are only available in deep cycle

-I was doing some checking on the Duralasts and can't find much info. I think I will have to take a ride to Autozone

Robert, do you have any pictures of the battery installed?

I want to get a starting battery because as far as I am aware deep cycle batteries will not last long if they are not used correctly. I guess I can always paint a regular battery but I would rather find a blue one if possible.

Could always buy a billet battery box like the one in the link below. Buy whatever color Optima battery you want and paint the battery and insert into this holder. I have one of these from the same guy, but mine is in my Ranger and it has the ford logo.

I like my Optima. And you don't need those expensive complicated hold-downs. Optima makes plastic ones specifically for their batteries. If you can't find any, let me know, as I can get 'em from my distributor.
