was thinking about this solution for a sub and looks like a good deal but i need to know if anyone has an f-150-250 what the dimensions are in relation to our tracs or if i am going to get one from jd, any ideas or info. would really help:D

If they are asking 220 for the sub and box that may not be a bad buy. Would definetly measure your proposed mounting location, i.e. behind rear drivers or passenger side seat compartment and ask the seller for specs on they're sub box set up.

Or you could just get the sub yourself and have our site sponsor JD BOXES make the enclosure for you, one that you know will fit.

:D:):Dyeah that was the origianl plan until i saw that deal. probably will end up doing it through jd anyway, but just wanted to get some more input from ya'll

Yeah, that's a great price for that sub and the custom box. Just didn't see any dimensions listed for it.

I'd probably pepper 'em with questions on the enclosures top and bottom depths, height and length.

It's pretty tight behind the seats and you want to know what to expect, will it fit like you want or do you have to modify the compartment etc.

Also, I'm sure you could get the sub for less than is listed on Pioneers' site, Amazon, Crutchfield or even ebay probably have them for less, but you'd still need an enclosure.

jb, i dont kknow if youve already bought the item but, i think you can find a nicer sub then that.

My recomendations: get a sub that runs on 2 ohms, and has a nominal power closer to 600 then 300.

i recommend the 12" kicker solobaric comp.

had that in my altima chris but the depth is way too deep for behind the seat of the st..........but was the best sub i have ever owned, the only subs i have found are the pioneer, clarion, blaupunt, and earthquake, they have to be shallowmount to put behind the seat from what i have found out from others, not to mod anything..........but i havn't bought anything yet, just looking for some really good ideas, thanks

I have 2 8" kicker solobarics being installed behind my back seat, the guys at the shop have the box built, they are just sealing it right now with fiberglass for strength.

Keep in mind that we are dealing with an 07 not a Gen 1. The 07 doesn't have as much room behind the seats as first gens do.

A good 8 is going to have a mounting depth of at least 4"

I'll have to look at my templates again for the 07 box, but there isn't much over 3.5" after you subtract the depth of the wood. If someone fiberglasses that will add more but it's also going to be more expensive.
