You'll be fine, I tow a package of similar wieght 2 to 3 times a week, yea I like to fish, and the only thing you need to do is give your self about twice as much room to stop. The truck would stop if you didnt alter it but you'd likely have a heart attack as you press on the petal and realize your not stopping and you have to mash it to come to a halt. I would also suggest turning off overdrive. I do, with this truck I have always went with the when in doubt turn off the OD, nothing changes except you do shift into OD, so slightly less gas MPG is a better trade off then a new tranny.
