My wife and I are going there soon. Just wondering if any of you have personal experiences, comments or warnings. We went to Acapulco in 2004. The resort we stayed at was great, but the ocean was skank and the trip to town made me feel like I needed eyes in the back of my head. :D

Thanks

I went there about 6 months ago. Had a great time. Stayed there for 12 days. It is desolate and yet in the tourist areas there is plenty to do.

Went deep sea fishing, caught a marlin, (let it go once we landed it in the boat). It was 7 ft 10 inches long. Caught a sail fish too. For some reason they would not bring it into the boat. So once it was close enough to grab they grabbed it and actually got the hook out.

Went kayaking in the harbor, visited several of the beaches, rented a Jeep for the day and cruised the lay of the land. Forget the name of the hotel we stayed at but it was very nice. 6 swimming pools, 2 were attached to the bar. Never got out of the water to get a drink if you wanted one.. LOL

Lots of famous people own land there. If you get any tour at all you'll get that kind of info. Some of their homes are pretty sharp.

I am sure I have some info here at home if you want some. I would just have to dig a bit for it...

Thanks Coastiejoe. Don't go to any trouble digging, I've Googled the place to death already. However I do have a question about the pool with a bar, was the water blue or yellow? LOL!

Larry, yes it is. Pretty big place compared to the stuff around it. You would not think so from the front. But you enter and go up these stairs and then thru a small hall way that opens up to another set of stairs or you can go to the right to the dinning room. The bar is down the other set of stairs.

There is also the "Giggling Marlin" in the town of Cabo San Lucas. Very close to Sammy's place.

You can get strung up and hang like they do marlins and get your picture taken. I did that. We were on a scavenger hunt trip and that was part of the trip.

All in all a fun place...
