I know some have, but didn't know how else to word the title.

I just had to escalate my dispute on PayPal with a seller on EBay. (allbestparts) I'm just wondering how long does it usually take? I know they say 30 days, but is it usually sooner? I'm wondering because it's already been 3 weeks since I paid this butthead. The funny thing is, he is still getting great feedback from people on EBay that got THIER stuff. I'm still communcating with another person that bought the same thing as I did and he hasn't gotten his stuff yet. He's getting the smae run around I got. The sellers replies are, "we sent that out over two weeks ago, if you don't get your package by the end of the week, let us know and we will send out another. If you recieve the first package, please refuse it and have it returned to us." Yeah, right, like I'd do that.

I've kept all correspondance between myself and the seller (8 from me to him and 2 from him to me.), and also myself and the other buyer, just in case PayPal wants proof.;)

I had a claim with paypal for over $300. It took about a month to resolve.

From memory, in my case, paypal sent the seller an e-mail asking them what their version was. They may have even sent a 2nd e-mail.

When there was no response within the set time limit they refunded my account.

I also think I had to send them copies of e-mails I had sent trying to resolve on my own.

I've done it once. It took about 45 days to get it situated, but I did get my money back. You will be refunded, it just takes some time....and it sucks. Good luck!

Big D, I've asked him to prove it was sent (by sending me a tracking number) and nothing. He just keeps sending the same e-mail, just worded different. The reason I started e-mailing him was because it was sopposed to be sent out in 48 hours and it was 2-3 day shipping with USPS Priority Mail. He also stated in the listing that tracking numbers were not available OUTSIDE the US. This prick has the product listed as coming out of LA Cali., but he is listed as being out of Hong Kong. I didn't see the Hong Kong part till after this started.

Man that sucks! You should have no issue getting refunded by paypal, it will just take some time and your money in the deal is going to be tied up until then. :(

It really seems like this seller is playing the "on order" game; selling things he doesn't have, once people Buy-It-Now or win the auctions they place an order; in the interim they claim it's been sent, then once they receive the item they send it off.

Lot's of powersellers do that.

Don't be surprised if in a day or so he responds that he "just got the package back via return mail damaged, and he is sending out a replacement immediately"...that's your cue that he actually just got the shipment and is sending the product.

Chances are this will work itself out before 30 days are up.

I appreciate the posts all. This is the first time I've had a problem with a seller to this extent. I've had them not communicate at all and the package show up late (1 week), but nothing like this. I bought this stuff Mar. 28th.;)

Stone, in the grand scheme of eBay listings, 3 weeks isn't a long time. Yes, it is excessive, and yes, if he said he sent it weeks ago you should have it. But many powersellers play games and as long as they ship within 30 days they feel they are doing just fine.

I agree TJR, 3 weeks isn't that long if I was single. It's my wife ridding my a** that's the problem. The other problem I have is the fact that I paid for 2-3 days shipping ($10) for parts that will cost probably $3 to ship. I know it's the "handling" that's costing so much, I think I deserve some $$$$ back due to the wait.:D

That's okay, I am still awaiting the drive gear for my garage door opener. I bought it last Tues, it shipped yesterday. But that's no fault of anyone other than Paypal. Their rip-off "funds clearing policy" is really nothing more than a delay were they hold your money in their account for up to 4 days while it gains them interest.

I had a claim for about $50, and it took roughly 30 days to be resolved. The seller, who did not ship upon payment, waited till the very end to refund my money. Jerk.

I did 1 time and PayPal charged me a $25 service fee. I will always use my credit card to pay PayPal from now on because My CC will refund 100%. PP sucks!

Good info there Gary. I have been wondering if I should just go to my CC company and have them do it. Maybe I will since it was only a f-ing $25 order. (I know, only $25, but I don't like to be ripped off)

Don't count on getting your money back. I've done a number of claims through Paypal. All were found in my favor. Basically if the seller doesn't carry a balance in their Paypal account, there is nothing Paypal will do to refund your money. Paypal will NOT give you THEIR money, only the money they can recover from the seller.

Best of luck.

lexbaby said it all. I have filed 2 claims with paypal in the past 5 years and still haven't received my money because the sellers have nothing in their account.

If you win your PayPal dispute and do not get you money back, the seller must not have had PayPal buyer protection listed in his auction.

On the right side of the listing under the link to the buyers info/other listings there usually is a section called "Buy Safely" outlining the up to $2000 in protection they will give if there is a problem with the seller.

If an ebay seller does not have this protection, I do not bid.

I filed recently over approximately $45. The item was Paypal protected. The seller did not respond any better to Paypal than they did to me. I escalated the case before the full time was up, about two weeks after filing, since there had been no response from the seller. Paypal responded in a few days that they had settled in my favor and would try to get the money from the seller's account. I would say that I had my $ a week after escalating, maybe a little more. The seller did have the $ in his account for them to take back, or things might have dragged on much longer. So far Paypal hasn't charged me anything.

I was going to also get my CC company involved but figured it's only $25. I'll see what PP does. I mean, hell, if the dumba** would just give me my stuff, I'd be happy that way. I just don't like being held "hostage" wondering where my stuff is and if it's going to be sent. I also don't like being ignored when someone has my money as soon as I bought the item. (used "buy it now");)

Oh, by the way, it did say "buy with confidence" on the right side of the listing.;)
