Anyone have HD?

Does anyone have an add-on HD radio, like the JVC model, KT-HDP1? Is this an improvement over regular FM programming/reception? I do a lot of traveling around the state and have to change stations fairly often. What about range?

I live in Massachusetts, the Worcester Metro area and I have an add on Pioneer add on HD tuner. This has nothing to do with Pioneer itself, but HD reception sucks. When it works its awesome. But I have to keep it switched to the blend of analog/HD otherwise I will get ridiculous amounts of dead air. If I am in Boston and only Boston its great. Anywhere where else its marginal at best. Needless to say I don't think its worth the money and I only listen to my Sirius now anyways. I am disappointed I spent the money on that in the first place. :cry:

I have it. It's awesome for when you get tired of the same crap on Sirius. Amazing sound quality, better than Sirius.

i have a jvc hd radio kd -hdr50 i live in s maine only works on a few station when i go to boston works great i have sirius also and i get my moneys worth every month go to hdradio.com and see how many stations in your area.good luck !!!

I was looking at a set-up on eBay but the found it could be bought on Amazon for like $25 anytime. I might give it a try sometime. Thanks for the opinions.

The nicest thng about Sirius/XM is that all the channels are available all the time.



I can drive from Orlando to New York and never touch the dial and never loose the signal. No searching for certain types of music because I always know where they are.



I can listen to an entire race, game or discussion without worrying about it disappearing before it ends.



My work requires me to travel alot and alot of the travel is behind a wheel and it is usually a long distance not local. When i have a vehicle that is not equipped with Sirius/XM it gets very frustrating at times.
