Just checking if anyone online that has power after the storm. My mom is in Lady Lakes and I have not been able to reach her yet.

East Orlando here, but work in South Orlando (near Sea World). Wasn't too bad, LOTS of rain and some pretty impressive thunder. I have heard a lot on the news about Lady lake though. Pretty much everyone in town is without power still. The worst damage was to some mobile home parks that were completely leveled. They haven't reported much since I last heard because the sun wasn't yet out to assess the damage. Is there any particular part of Lady Lake your mom is in? Any particular neighborhood I should listen for?

If i hear any further information, I'll post it here.

I'm in Arkansas... I've gotten more snow in the last 48 hours than we've gotten in the last 4 years combined.... same storm that went through FL.

I just heard from my mom and she is fine, just lost power for a while. Damage in the Villages but on the other side of 27/441 and alot of damage south of her in the town of Lady Lakes.

Thanks for the replies.

Glad to hear she's okay! This weather trend happened before in 1998 and was due to El Nino that year. If anyone recalls, it was February 23th of 1998 that those tornados ripped through central Florida killing several people in the middle of the night. Last night/this morning was an eerie reminder. The fires were REALLY bad that year too. I hope we don't have to look forward to that again.

Yup, I remember that. Went right across Turnpike.

Dang, I saw that 7 people got killed in FL. Every time I'm close to packing up and moving there something like this happens.

Snowing like crazy right now and it's going to be 0* here this weekend. Stupid groundhog.
