When I was deployed for the first Kuwaiti war i purchased a lighter from EVERY ship that came into the Bahrain Harbor. In several cases they had brass, chrome and satin black finishes. I tried to get every type there were.

I also got about 40 from foreign vessels. Many of them are quite unique. At any rate. Was going thru my attic and saw them. Have not sen them in 15 years...

I am going to take pictures of them all and list them on ebay. Thought I'd let you know here just in case someone has an interest in Zippos. 95% of them are new in their original box.

I even have one of the primers from the Cannons on the USS Missouri who is now a Museum I believe. According to the Armorer from the ship, this is from round number 7. I actually got it from the Captain of the ship. His boat broke down and I towed him and his personal crew back to his ship. I got a very nice tour of the Battle Ship...

Let me know if so....

You got me there...I've been collecting Zippos for about 5 or 6 years now and have almost 400 lighters. Unfortunately, I really can't afford more right now but I will keep an eye out for the auctions...I might be able to pick up a couple interesting ones. Thanks for the heads up.

Chet, just took pictures of about 20 of them. Going to list them over the next few days. I have so pretty rare ones, (I think). I have a New USS Princeton, still in the plastic still in the Box. This is the ship that got hit by a mine during Desert Storm. It was dry docked in Bahrain for emergency repairs. Once it got back to the states they cut the entire stern off and re-sterned her..

I'll get a list together of what I am looking to sell at this time.

Thanks...

Excellent....I always having to pick and choose but that's pretty much where I am right now. (Too many ST mods...lol)

cruzrtwdgt,

Thanks for the offer. I don't really need a lighter from the Laboon. The reason I was interested in one is because that is the first ship I was ever on to do a sonar dome inspection in 1995 at Bath Iron Works in Portland, ME. Since then, I was on a few other DDG's and FFG's.

DDG's I have inspected was the Ramage, Carney, Cole, McFaul, Shoup, and Barry. I don't remember what FFG's I inspected since they had a Keel dome and the dome was removed for inspection compared with the bow dome on the DDG's that remained on the ship.

Coastie, I might be interested if you have any from the DDG's I listed.
