Anyone know what the measurements are for this box?

Hey guys/gals, I was going thru some pics on my laptop and found one of this dual sub box for behind the seat ( pic #1). Question is, does anyone know the measurements of it and or who makes it? I'm planning on making one just like it. Also, I made the under the seat enclosed box (pic #2) and tested it with my 10" MTX (no amp) and it was fighting itself, now when I took out the wire input jack and it had a port, it sounded awesome. Has anyone posted there under seat box? I know once I hook an amp to the sub it's gonna be even louder so i"m thinking I'm gonna port the end of the box tolet the sub breathe.

Jerry I gotta be honest with you. That box is most likely not large enough to be ported. It does depend on the specs for that sub however. But with out properly tuning the enclosure I promise its gonna sound like crap and could ruin your sub. A hole is not a port. Building a ported enclosure requires the box being a certain size, the port needs a specific diameter if its a round port and it also needs a specific tube length. As for the 1st pic. I am pretty sure that enclosure was built to go under a seat of a different model vehicle. I could be wrong but the area behind our seats is shaped nothing like that enclosure and that cut out at the bottom suggests transmission tunnel to me. Hope this helps ya man

Porting a box is not as simple as just opening it up.



Port length and volume changes the way the sub outputs. Port tuning is very important for it to not sound poopy. Usually ported boxes are larger volume than sealed boxes also, so you can't just add a port to a sealed box. They are totally different animals.
