LaRue,
I alway avoid MicroSoft's "Preview" or "Beta-Tests" versions. I go an advanced copy of Windows-95 and installed it on my PC at work. It was great and only had a few minor bugs. So when they released the full version of Window-95 I got a free copy. When I attempted to install it, the install kept failing? Contacted MicroSoft and was told 'Yes, there was a bug in the install software' so they sent me another CD. That installed OK, but they made so many changes to the Beta-Version that you would not recognize it as the same software that I beta-tested. After having to relearn all the changes, it finally work OK
I bought Windows-8 about 6 months ago, but have not installed it yet. After I bought it, I heard too many horror stories....Things like, it does not include the Windows Media Player anymore, so if you want to play a CD, you must buy a separate version of MicroSoft's Media Player.:fire:
I still might load it onto my NetBook to see if I really like it before I think about loading it onto my main Desktop PC.
Since my numerous experiences with MicroSoft, I am very cautious because often times their new Operating systems software are not backward compatible with some software or hardware...and you often don't know until after you install it only to find out things that you have always used don't work anymore..:fire:
