I thought the commercial for the Ford Mustang 500 was cool. They're unloading one in Europe and one guy turns to the other and says "Couldn't find a car you liked?"; and the answer is priceless "No, I couldn't find a speed limit I liked" (in the states). :D ;)

I am & I loved the commerical. But the price for Carrol Shelby;s personal one and only Cobra was unreal, 5 million dollars and that does not include all the other fees.

It was wild. The whole place at one point were standing and yelling, urging the bidders on. Can you believe it $5 MILLION dollars an that does not include all the other fees.

There is one guy that seems to be buying alot of cars. I beleive they said his name is Ron Prate. He already has spent several, several million dollars. They just said his collection is not open to the public and thar's a shame.

I have it on right now. While it is fascinating to see the numbers some of these cars are going for it is also very discouraging for people who would actually like to own and drive a collector car. The little guy is quickly being priced out of the market. About the only way someone like myself can afford to buy a "dream car" is to do something like I am attempting with my 70 Mach 1. You buy a project car and do the restoration a little at a time as you can afford the parts. If you can do the majority of the work yourself all the better. The problem then becomes what do you do with the darn thing once its finished? If you keep it you might be afraid to drive it because it could be worth a small fortune. About the only thing that makes sense is to treat it as an investment. Once that happens you begin to lose the emotional ties and it becomes just another material object. Its all about the Benjamins at that point and that's not necessarily a good thing...:(

I have it on now...they are auctioning off the orange county chopper bike and vette.

Both are nice but I wouldnt pay that much for any of these cars passing over this auction block. There all nuts!!:wacko::wacko:

I think I'm gonna be sick. They just sold a 69 Boss 429 for $550,000. My first Mustang was, you guessed it, a 69 Boss 429.:blink::eek::huh:

blksn8k,

I hear what you're saying. I've been watching B/J all week, and I'm sitting here watching these Mustangs go for unreal sums, and I'm thinking... "If I just park it in the garage and only drive it about 300 miles a year, I MIGHT be able to get some ridiculous amount of money for it in 40 years..." But what fun would that be? That car is WAY too much fun to drive to park it all the time! And while I'd LIKE to be able to do that, I think I'd rather experience the fun of driving it.
