Hey guys let me get your thoughts on this because I'm a little conflicted as to what I want to do. I acquired an ARE bed cap this weekend and want to see what your suggestions would be regarding it. The Cap is Black but my ST is Blue... b4 i got it I figured I'd get it repainted to match and had it priced out already for $300.00. But when I put it on I kinda liked the look! It's diffrent and with my black cladding, visors, brush guard, larger tires, and dark tint I think it shows pretty well. If I keep it black I think I will repaint my scoop to add some addition black to the trac. What do you all think though... Stay black or repaint? TY

Suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I like it. Definitely goes with the blue/black thing goin on there. I vote to keep it black and spend the $300 on something else for the ST :D

Since it doesn't match the black cladding 100% to me it looks out of place....

IF the cladding was Gloss black as well, it may look good....

I say paint the cap.....

You could also get some cans from paintscratch and give it a quick can spray that will work for a while...

hmmm.... good point about the cladding color offset Todd. Maybe I'll have a place paint those to match the color and gloss of the cap... decisions decisions...

I'd paint it blue to match and have them do your tailgate handle at the same time. When I see trucks with different color lids or toppers it always looks cheap to me, no offense.

LOL thanks Tom! Well you guys have kinda convinced me... I just had a 6th guy price it for me and his price seems to be the ringer... She will be getting painted in the next couple of weeks! L2 Blue!

You have a good looking truck no matter what you do. To an untrained eye, a matching canopy can make it look like an Explorer, to a trained eye it looks like a well detailed customization. A lot of the painting costs are in the preparation, masking and sanding, find out from the paintshop what they would charge if you did that part yourself.
