Local shops in town give conflicting advice on sub box configuration. A 10 inch sub box under the passenger back seat firing up vs a box firing down and two 10's behind the back seat firing forward. Would think the latter through the back seats would give the best sub imaging in the ST's limited space. Knowing that bass has to bounce off it's enviroment I want to make sure the best way to go. Advice appreciated.

It doesn't really matter. For one, a sub's sound (or at least the sound it shoudl be producing) is omnidirectional, which means you don't have to have a direct "line-of-sight" to the subwoofer cone to hear the waves it produces. In all of those configurations the sound will be muffled somewhat anyway, either by the floor, seat bottom, or seat back. Unless you're going for an SPL or SQ system, do whatever system is the most practical for everyday life and use of the truck.

Which ever gives them the most airspace (or at least the correct airspace for whatever sub you are going with) will sound the best. Like Tiger said which way they face doesn't truely matter.
