Hello,

I was at my local salvage yard and came a cross a bed extender from a 01 ST and because my 04 didn't come with one I figured $100 was a cheap upgrade. I have now come to realize that this is going to cost me a lot more than $100. My ST didn't have the lugs for the extender to clip on to so I ordered them from my local Ford dealer ($22) and when they came in today found out that my ST never had the holes threaded for the lugs (issues 1). So the parts person looked into the issue to see if there is a way to resolve my issue and has told me that on top of figuring out how to get those lugs installed I need 4 pins (1L3Z 84286B26 AA) for the other holes for $70 (issue 2). I am at the point do I 1.) spend all this money to get this extender to work (don't know ho much I will use it), 2.) cut my losses and see if the salvage yard will let me return it. or 3.) sell it. :banghead:

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

THERE ARE NOT THREADED.....

The bolts CUT NEW THREADS as you install them....

you have everything you need !!!

Does the salvage yard have the truck the extender came from? Get all the parts you need from them!:supercool:

Unfortunately the ST i got the bed extender from was in a rollover wreck and the bed was scraped already. I will put the lugs in, but what are those other 4 pins i need? And why are they $70 each?

I am parting out my ST, it came with a factory installed OEM bed extender if you need any more part just let me know! I will see them to you at a great price.
