I'm seriously considering taking out the rear /40 seat, and building a speaker box for one 12' solobaric.

What direction should the speaker face in order to get the very best sound? I've only owned cars my whole life, so I have no clue how sound "works" inside of a truck.

Should the box be ported? And would a Bandpass box sound better than a "regular" box?

I would try and get one at an angle, so the waves fire off the back window, off the ceiling, off the windshield, and out the front windows. I always get deeper bass with the windows down, lol.

Bandpass is VERY hard to make sound good.

I would port, and either face sub up with ports toward front or sub and ports up. I can't have any scientific reasons why, thats just what I would do :)

Yeah I hate how I have to roll the windows down to get the best bass sound. Or how the bass sounds better if you lean forward, closer to the windsheild. That's actually the reason I was thinking about maybe using a banpass. I've heard that they sort of serve as a car trunk. Something like that....

I don't want to face the sub up, because I'd like to be able to make the box where someone could sit on it if I needed an extra seat. I'm probably going to face the sub towards the back, mainly because I hate it when you can hear the speaker itself moving.
