I have an 05 ST Premium with Auto and 4.10LS, DynoMax muffler and K&N drop-in.

Has anyone tested the differant octane tunes, 87, 89, and 91/93 Economy?

I under stand that there is a slight MPG gain from performance to Economy. But is there a differance from the higher to lower octane tunes. I'm currently using the 93 Economy tune and only getting about 14.6 MPG. Mostly on cruise at 70. 2/3rd of the time.

Thanks

The thing I have against MPG tunes is if you are not 100% on the highway with it, it will cause you to give it more gas around town to get going and take off....

That will cause you to use more gas in the long run.....

Now if you run a performance tune and love the power, then you will use more gas because of that....

It all depends on how you drive...

I know I would shoot my self if the ST had a permanent MPG tune in it....

OK, I could see the highway thing. It look like my wife will be tking over the ST. 8-(

So what is the differance between the octane tunes in the Torque VS Performance. She mainly drive local 45 MPH routes.

If you know what your doing you can increase mileage to a certain point in all aspects of driving the vehicle thru recalibration. The biggest factor always being your right foot though.

I'm with Todd. I tried the mpg tune and the performance tune and I would also shoot myself if I was on the permanent mpg tune. I only have the 87 performance tune but the trac is "fun" to drive. The mpg tune seemed to hesitate when you start off from a dead stop. Life is too short . . . put the performance tune in.

Yeah that leads back to the person who built the file for your ST. if their MPG files aren't good you will not see an MPG increase.

And by your description it sounds as though something is not right with that file.
