Just a few of the wolves killed this year so far during wolf season.

Wish I could show you a few hundred more pictures.

It is just amazing how big they are.

They are deer, elk, and livestock killing machines.

The big question you have to ask yourself is why?

These massive wolves are not the native

wolf that lived in our area 100 years ago. There was a reason these

things where exterminated nationwide. They sure do look cuddly and cute.

I wonder if our city dwelling tree hugger society that never has left a

city really understands the impact of these killing machines. I wonder if

a Tyrannosaurus-Rex was somewhere to be had,

that they would want to put them back in the wild too.

Its just a matter of time before one of our granola loving green

peace hikers goes out on a hike and runs into a pack of these killers and

becomes part of the food chain. If you are going into the Blues,

Cascades, or up above Spokane hiking, game scouting, mushroom hunting, or

for something else you better start carrying a side arm. Can you even imagine

being out by yourself and having 8 to 12 of these monsters surround you!

Think about what kind of appetite a dozen of these must have and remember

they are the only predator in our nation that kills for fun along with for

food. The amount of animals they take are just a partial portion of what

they need to eat. When elk are calving they will kill the calves just for

fun after they have had all they can eat and then leave the rest to rot.

I mentioned in another thread that I saw an animal standing along side the road about 4 miles from my house that I thought was a wolf, or possibly a very large coyote. Most coyote's are thin and noticably smaller than a German Shepard. The animal I saw looked like a wolf, but much bigger and taller than I expected, but not as big as those wolves?

It's also obvious by the thick heavy fur that those are photos of wolves that live in colder northern climates...Here in Central Texas wolves would not have fur that thick.

This weekend I was at a local Winery talking with the owners. I mentioned that I had seen what appeared to be a wolf or a very large coyote about a week earlier. They said that it was probably a wolf since they often see them on the vinyards and said they are very large as was the one I saw. They also have mountain lions/cougars on their vinyard property and are very happy to have them since they keep the deer away which would love to eat their grape crop.

I always thought that wolfs were about the size of a German Shepard, but the one I saw was obviously larger, but I never thought we had any wolves around here, especially so close to homes, roads and civiliazation.

Those are some big wolves. About 6 years ago I was out ice fishing on a lake in Northern MN. We were done fishing for the day, we were going to head in to watch the Super Bowl. I got out to turn off the Propane heater and about 15' away near a permanent ice house I saw a tail wagging. It was a wolf looking for fish thrown out of the ice houses. It saw me and slowly trotted away and stopped about 60' away and just stared at me. By the time my wife scrambled out of the ice house he was walking away. Good thing we got skunked or that wolf probably would've been right outside my house.

Were they supposedly shot in Canada?

My first year of hunting (which was a while further back than I care to admit), I harvested two wolves in Northern Ontario - both males, one weighting 105lbs and the other 89lbs. Both were considered absolutely massive by any and every trapper that I had spoken to (most of whom have been travelling to fur trader gatherings for 40 plus years).

I find it very, very hard to believe that these pictures have not been doctored... Then again, it is possible that the hunters in each of these photos are in the range of 4 foot 6" to 5 foot 1"...

If a 225lb wolf exists, it is Bigfoots pet - made to grow to such proportions from a steady diet of unicorn meat.
