Sal, I like it the idea! Perfect since I hate having to lift my bike onto my rooftop setup. How are the tie downs holding up with two bikes on the racks? Any play from the wind when driving on the freeways or at high speed? Looking forward to see your project.

Because the bars are far apart. there is little to no sway or play from the rack at any speed.

The tie downs seem to be great.. had the rack on all last year. and all seems to be fine

Heh. I ordered the parts to do the same thing last weekend. I'm going to try something a little different though.

Hi,

Great bike rack! Do you have to take off the whole bike rack to open the tonneau cover, or do the bars unhook somehow?

That is the only Draw back. You do have to take off the rack to open the Cover fully.



But I dont mind. and also because the rack locks makes the cover more secure.
