Bought a 19 in wide screen LCD today to replace my out going 21 Sony. I know I have to get used to the "new" format, but how do I get everything where it doesn't look stretched out? Kinda like looking at gumby on a bad day. I have my res set at 1024X768 cause anthing else, the fonts look like they are pixelated.... suggestions

what color setting do you have it on, make sure you have it on 32 bit color and then try changing font size to see if that makes a difference._Ron

LaRue, there may be an aspect ratio adjustment, probably under the video settings. Also, it depends on the type of video cables being used (ie. component, composite, s-video, etc.). HDTV programming is usually in the widescreen format to completely fill out the screen, but you need to be using a digital video cable, like component or HDMI, to connect your cable or satelite receiver to your tv.

Trevor, there is a ratio setting, It is set to "monitor scaling" 75mhz.. I just adjusted it to 1280X800 and it looks pretty good. I guess I'll just have to keep tweaking it..... The font's still suck.

LaRue, try setting Clear Type. I have a how to in my library.

Change the display resolution in your display adapter's settings.

Most flat panels have a "native resolution" that is best for them. Read your manual and set your adapter accordingly.

Switching to Clear Type will also help.
