Hi everyone,

I recently changed the rotors/hubs and 1 of the front calipers on my '01 ST. Now occasionally when I stop, I get a weird sort of grinding/crunching and the ST pulls to the left. After a few stops like this, the ABS light comes on, and the brakes work fine. Any advice on what might be the problem? It almost feels like the ABS is trying to engage on one of the wheels but not the other... I'm lost.

Thanks!

Jake

sounds like the blipper teeth on the rotors are not the same as came on the truck, and maybe different on each rotor. the ABS thinks it needs to pulse because it sees a variation on the wheelspeed..... maybe..

both rotors are the same, so that shouldn't be an issue. i wonder if only chaning one of the calipers caused the problem? also, i bled the brakes as best i know how, but could this be caused by air still in the lines?

If you have a grinding noise, something is either loose or installed incorrectly. I would take the wheels off and re-inspect the caliper and pads.

i am going take off the wheels as soon as i can.

i don't know how to describe the noise, but its more of a clunking/crunching noise than a grinding noise. i am pretty familiar with the grinding noise (thats why i had to change both rotors and a caliper :) . and also while its making these noises and pulling to the left, its pulsing and trying to push the brake pedal back towards me, which is why i assume its the ABS.

anyway, thanks for the tips, guys.
