Can anyone tell me more about clear corners?

I'm one of those son of a bitches who would look for a reason to sue someone for modifying the safety of their vehicle for the sake of appearances. If I ever end up rearending someone because they darkened their brake lights, they can be guaranteed to be sued in civil court.

Clear reflectors are for defining the edge of a highway, not for delineating the side of a vehicle.

You would probably still lose, but your right to sue and blame someone else is one of the reasons why this country is so great...geez.

Actually, odds are, Mark would win the case.

Though Mark K's tone is harsh, his message is correct. There are standards when it comes to auto and traffic control lighting and it's not really a good idea to drift from the standards.

Though clear, (or blue, or amber, or pink...whatever) might LOOK better to some, there is a reason for the lens colors that come standard on a vehicle.

I would win. Why? Because someone knowingly and wantonly altered a factory-installed device whose intention is to others that you're slowing down or stopping and replaced it with a device whose performance is known to be much less than that of the factory-installed device.

I'm all for adding goodies to vehicles, but when it increases the safety risk to other drivers, that's where I draw the line.

The same line of thinking applies to something like driving with bald tires. If a driver blows a tire or loses control on a wet surface and hits me and I see that their tires are crap, I'll sue to recover my losses.

I'm not a believer in suing for potential mental anguish and that BS, but I believe it's right to recover actual losses due to someone else's ignorance.
