Several people have referenced these C. Wells enclosures. Are there just blueprints I can get, or do I need to email someone to make it? I'd rather buy the plans as I can build it. Looking at housing 1 8" sub.

Cheers.

Chris Wells isn't making boxes anymore. You can look him up and maybe email him, but I'm sure he's not doing them anymore. Your best bet would probably be to check out JDBoxes, who is the new enclosure sponsor.

His template is still part of the Projects section. I built my design off of his. If you have questions let me know.

Is the soft back box as good as 100% wood? I'd be fine building this one, I just have no experience with the poly resin. What kind of sub did you put in JD? I'm looking to install a JL 8w3. Thanks for the help guys!! This site is my new best friend!

w3 won't fit without removing the storage compartments. You can only fit a sub with mounting depth of less than 4" with the compartments in tact.

My website has some info regarding space constrates (sp?) and pictures of various options.

I never ran a single 8.. I have a single 10 in a console box now.

edit: forgot about the fiberglass question.. when done right fiberglass is just as stong as wood. Boxes can be made completely out of fiberglass with no issue, again if done right.

Thanks JD> that box for the 10's, does that allow the seats to go back all the way? I have 10s now but didn't think I could use them?

Also, with the 4+ " depth, how would removing the storage box make the space deeper? I understand it would allow more room for width allowing more airspace.

Yes the seats still latch.

Removing the compartments gives you more room from the back of the seat to the back of the cab. So it allows for a deeping mounting depth on the sub. You can get another inch almost. It's hard to measure that perfectly, but I've build several boxes for members with no issues following the mounting depth restrictions listed.

Hmmm, all the subs I were considering are over 4" but I'd rather not remove any of the paneling. Think its possible to extend an angled mount where the speaker would go, so its flush with the paneling? Looks like that might add the extra inch. I could always keep the cover off of that compartment.

Sorry to be a pain but is there anyway to get the dimensions to that C. Wells template? It has the shape but no measurements..Thanks.
