Carfax vehicle inspection?

Has anyone used one of the online services for a used vehicle inspection? I'm a bit skeptical because it doesn't involve any underhood diagnostics.

Car Fax is good ONLY if the damage was reported to the Insurance companies or Motor vehicles. ANY thing other than that can be hidden from car fax......
