okay so I'm needing to replace JUST the armrest portion of my center console. only the part that goes up and down on a 02 ST not the whole thing. I found a site a week or so ago with it and i cant find the same site again to save my life, and Ford said it would cost around 100 or so. Screw that because i had found it on this site for 40 i just dont remember the site. Anyone have a site in mind i could get the armrest from? or another alternative? because its cracking from aging. thanks for the help!

I came upon it a few weeks ago too, but dang, I can't find it no mo'. My armrest has started to tear right where my elbow sits so I'm looking to replace it some time.

It's not that hard to redo the material on the armrest. I did mine a few months ago, it only cost me about $5. I went with a cotton camo fabric because I didn't want the vinyl to crack again. I've got to take some pictures yet and write up a project. It also only took about 15 minutes to do it.

i have the one without the bag. Same one as Andy in the pic above just the graphite color. And if its not to hard to redo yourself then thatd be a possibility i guess

If all you need is to repair the vinyl on the arm rest lid, then it's a piece of cake. I bought a recovering kit from an eBay vendor for about $13. It came with all materials and instructions to complete the task. Took me about 30 minutes, and it looks good as new.

Edit: If you have the graphite console, you'll want the "Dark Gray" color from this vendor.

Just an update...

Finally got around to ordering and replacing my armrest cover. I couldn't avoid creases around the corners in the front and the Dark Gray color is not dark enough to match the orignal (the color is almost the exact match of the console itself, however), but looks good enough! Nice and clean, and softer too. Better than having rips on it, and $12 beats ~$100 for OEM replacement.

I had mine done at a auto trim shop for $35. It looks the same and feels better then the original.

Hate to resurrect an old post, but I wanted to share that i just redid my armrest too.

Step 1: unscrew the hinge and remove the armrest.

Step 2: Unscrew the bottom plastic that has the snaps.

Step 3: Pry off the bad vinyl.

Took the vinyl off because of a large hole. Here is what it looks like from the bottom.

Step 4: Trace the outline on new fabric or vinyl and cut new piece. I used black becaue store didnt have grey.. but it matches my trim.

Step 5: Some people had good luck stretching and stapling the vinyl. My staple gun could not penetrate the plastic and started cracking it the more I tried. So I used "packing tape" to hold my new vinyl down. it has glue so it worked well. Stretch and stick bit by bit, careful to avoid creases.

Step 6: Reapply the plastic bottom and screw lid back on hinge.
