Has anyone tried to fit a 10 in a custom box replacing the chincy center console? I'm contemplating the idea and think it would be pretty cool.

Leave the cup holders in tack but get rid of the week arm rest and the wierd lunch bag

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I thought of doing this once, and with a proper sub, it could be done. You'll almost have to make the box sealed, as this lessens the airspace you need to a managable area. How I had it drawn upis the face of the sub would face backwards, towards the rear seat passengers, and it'd almost have to be sitting so the face is behind the back of the seats to get the space you need. Finish the rest of the box to get my airspace and fit inbetween the seats, then just add of cupholders, arm rests, whatever else you want/need.

I was actually thinking of making it side-firing.. so it would be pointed at either the passanger or driver. Definatly sealed, unless the volume is there to make it ported but I don't think it is..

I have a 2004 Ranger with a center console sub from Ford. 6-1/2" and it rocks ! you might see if that console could be modified to fit.

I'm wanting to put a 10 or 12 up there. My measurements.. 8x18x12 leaves room for foam to make an armrest again. That gives me 1 cubic foot for a sub. Should be fairly easy construction too. Fiberglass the bottom so it sits nice and the rest can be 3/4 mdf.

I think I'm going to try this in the next few months.

It has been done before. I thought I remembered someone doing it. His member name is Carl but not sure if he is still around or not. Anyways here is a picture from his library.

Maserlaser's setup is something like that. It extends towards the back seat though, just another suggestion.
