check engine light

my check engine light is on and has been for about 3 months. I have to go in for my emission check soon. I brought the truck to the local auto zone to have it scanned and have the computer erased from error messages. When they hooked up the scanner nothing happened. For some reason the connection doesnt work. what should i do to try and fix this so i can get my emmisions done?

There is a fuse for the OBD port it obviously blew... The OBD port and the cigarette lighter are the same fuse.. 20amp inside the truck on the left of the dash..



SECOND,,,, are you kidding me 3 months... sheesh....

thank you i will check that. As for the check engine light I put in the high flow cats and y pipes. Ever since that my O2 sensors trigger very easily. Once it warms up outside for some reason the check engine light shuts off. So it really doesnt bother me only because I know everything is ok Thanks again

Sounds like you broke the Pre heater wire on the o2...

Probably twisted IT too much...

I have no idea but it works fine when the weather is warmer outside. Thank you I went out and pulled the fuse and yes it is shot!!
