According to my 2002 owner's manual this light will also come on when the fuel is low. Does anyone know approximately how much fuel remains when this warning light is triggered? Thanks!

In my 2001 ExST
the CHECK GAUGE lamp in the InstrumentCluster
typically comes on when there's 2~3gal left in the tank
That varies driving uphill\downhill\accelerating\decelarating.
In any case, best to stop for gas within the next 10~20miles,
unless you like gambling & long walks.

Thanks for the info! I'm not much for gambling and always head to the gas station before it gets to that point. Just nice to know how much leeway I have.

I had a fuel gauge trick me. I ran out of gas at 3/8 of a tank. Darn spring from gas nozzle stuck to the float assy. Ever since, I get gas when I get close to 1/4 tank.

As a side note, if you are that low and the light comes on, do not park on a hill nose down.

2 gal is what I measured, in my 2004.. so 30-40 miles, if yer feeling lucky ;-)
try not to get anywhere near that personally but my wife likes to run it down..
