they both "quit" within a month of ea. other, I have the driver's side rear door panel off...any ideas? Can't open either rear door from the inside

Sounds like it is not the child locks, but broken interior handels.....
Operate the Handel and you will see the rod it should move, IF the rod is not moving the plastic gears inside the Handel are broken..
