It's a call for what BO calls 'active citizenship' a la JFK/LBJ. It's bigger standing military, bigger Americorps, bigger Peace Corps, bigger Foreign Service Corps, more community based organizations and so on.

fy10lyny, seems in contradiction to his promise to reduce military spending. Strategic weapons development will not go forward under Obama. Wants to get rid of ALL nuclear weapons throughout the world including ours. Is he really that naive?
