Clear coat question

Ok this may be a stupid question, but I was wondering if you can just apply clear coat to a car that has lost its clear coat (paint looks dull-not shiney anymore, want to bring the shine back to the paint....wax of course does nto help)



I have asked someone this before, and they said that there is nothing you can do, besides repainting the car in the areas that have lost the clear coat. He also stated that I wont like it. But I feel that this person doesnt want to do the car anyway.



Any suggestions would be helpful...thanks!

The old cc needs to be sanded off to the paint. The truck has to be prepped properly.

ALSO Clear coat can appear to yellow or dull the paint color..

Look into having the entire vehicle wet sanded.
