Clearcoat Fill Pens

How well do those scratch-fix things that fill in the clearcoat work?

(Like the ones sold by the deceased Billy Mays)



Assuming they really do work, what do ya'll recommend? As driving season is starting up, I'm noticing some new scrapes.

They only repair the clearcoat. If the base coat is scratched they are no good junk, for that. You will still see the scratch.

So then what is the recommended scratch fix?



Thankfully the white "scars" don't really stand out too much on the green ST.

I've had luck with "Scratch-X", and colored scratch fillers. Still, a scratch is a scratch. Nothing that I have ever used works like snake oil on TV.
