Aloha guys, I bought a new (larger) hard drive for my laptop. When I load win 7, I get a message that there are no drivers. This is a new hard drive, I don't expect it to have anything on it. What do I do about drivers? Thanks in advance. Ed

Well 7 worked ok with the old hard drive, but someone said that an 80G hard drive was too small so I bought this 250G. I don't know if I can download drivers from the net but don't know what else.

There is a program called DriverMax (there are others) The download it free. It will backup all the drivers and save them to any device, like a USB Jump drive. When you install the new disk, install DriverMax on the system and then restore all your drivers.

plug in an Ethernet cable to you computer and router, Windows should recognize your Ethernet adapter, and you'll have internet access. Then Windows will probably find most of the other drivers you need.

Thanks guys, I'll do that.

God. Bless. Ed

Well the 4th attempt at instillation worked. Thanks for your help though.

Ed,

Glad you got your PC up and running again. Not sure what you mean by "The 4th attempt at install worked"? I assume you mean that you were trying to install Windows-7.

I believe I was the one suggesting that you upgrade the Hard Drive to something at least 250GB or bigger. That was based on the fact that you were having problems and 80GB is probably too small to support Windows-7...I think Windows-7 requires at least 89 GB or more. ( I don't have Windows-7, so I cannot verify that number) Windows also requires additional free space for applications in addition to the hard drive space for the operating system.
