I use "Mobile Phone Tools" software. It allows me to use my Cell Phone as a modem. Once connected, I surf the net and what not.

Lately, this specific program has been taking MANY minutes to open, sometimes not at all and it times out. When it works, it works perfectly.

I get the feeling my computer is doing something in the back ground that is creating the conflict. How can I trace or see what is happening when so that I can start to isolate this issue.

Doing the CNTR/ALT/DEL does bring up the monitoring window but there is nothing in there that is an issue. Only what I already know is running, nothing extra.

Thanks in advance...

Have you run any of the Anti-spyware tools on your system?

i.e.

Microsoft Anti Spyware free

Spy sweeper from webroot $

Adaware Free

Spybot search and destroy Free

you would be amazed how some of the spyware/Adware can mock "Good" software and make your new fast computer a BRICK:angry:

Coastiejoe,

Norton will protect your PC from viruses but doesn't do much to protect you from SpyWare and AdWare which will eat up your CPU time.

Downloat Microsoft's Anti-Spyware AND LavaSoft's AdAware SE. I always recommend that you use two Anti-Spyware/AdWare programs to make sure you kill everything. And since they are free, there is no reason not to use them. And the price is right! :D

Most businesses feel that SpyWare and AdWare are a bigger problem than viruses.

Actually, Norton has a new anti-spyware version of Norton Internet Security 2005. I have it, and it is very effective at eliminating spyware. They sent me a $10 upgrade offer from the 2004 product, and I jumped on it. :D
