Yes you can, an OEM setup will be very hard and require a lot of parts..... They make Kits to add it on..

As Todd said. The add on aftermarket kits are easy install. OEM not so...

I have family and friends install the after market kits in their driveway.

I installed an aftermarket kit on a '94 Ford Ranger, bought it from JC Whitney as I recall. The control buttons did not fit on the steering wheel, rather on a small panel about two inches square which I attached near the light switch. It was a four cylinder, so I bought a vacuum canister to store vacuum. All in all, it worked very well. Took about an afternoon with my moderate skills.

Ford made retrofit kits, which are probably obsolete now for all Gen 1 years but you can find them on eBay occasionally.

This kit also fit the Sport/Sport Trac 2002.
