Tony Stewart(if he can keep from running into someone on purpose)

That's an interesting point. I listen to the NASCAR channel on Sirius at times. After the incident between Stewart and Kurt Busch during Shootout practice last Friday every call-in show was awash with theories about who was at fault, etc. Now I am no Busch fan but I am really not a Stewart fan. Here's my take on "Smoke" and something I have not heard anyone else mention. The guy seems to think he is Intimidator II or something. Earnhardt SR was the master at head games. The difference is that he had the respect of all the other drivers. Stewart will never have that as long as he acts like an a-hole. If you pay attention to who he has on track issues with you will also notice that these are guys that 1, he sees as his main competition and 2, guys who are likely to loose their cool and do something stupid if they are provoked, possibly taking them out of contention. Witness Kurt Busch on pit road or Kenseth or Edwards slamming him on the track. They also seem to be drivers who have some tie to Jack Roush, either past or present. Busch, Kenseth, Edwards. Not sure what that is all about but Stewart did have a contract with Ford before Gibbs signed him. If he had been a Roush driver he probably would have had more championships during the 2002-2005 period when Roush was one of the most dominant teams. Or, put another way, if it wasn't for Jack Roush, Stewart would have probably won more championships even though he was driving for Joe Gibbs. He is a talented driver but it takes more than talent to be a great champion.

Tony is an a-hole. He was rude to my wife at Charlotte a few years ago when she asked nicely for an autograph. Rusty Wallace on the other hand couldn't have been nicer.

I have a book on NASCAR written by a long-time racing reporter who says that in all the years he's covered NASCAR he's only run into two bona-fide jerks; Ernie Irvan and Tony Stewart.

Pre-race I picked Tony, Dale Jr., or Jeff Gordon to win. Heck of a good race and I was happy to see Newman win.

Dodge.... 6 of the top 10, 7 of the Top 11, 8 of the Top 15... not bad:

Dodge: 53.3% of Top 15 cars... 25.6% of the field

Toyota: 20% of Top 15 cars... 20.9% of the field

Ford: 6.7% of the Top 15 cars... 16.3% of the field

Chevy: 20% of the Top 15 cars... 37.2% of the field

Interesting.

Hendrick.... the ONLY Chevy in the Top 15 was the 88.:cool:
