Hey everybody I'm wanting to get rid of the grille cross bar and have the full grill remaining and put in an aftermarket chrome grille but I have no idea how to get this done. I have the idea of what I want to do in my head but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know how to actually perform the project. If anybody out there can suggest the type of place to take my trac or how I can do it myself please let me know thanks.

Someone did that, and it made the front look like a ranger. Not sure if you want to go with that look. Do a search on the message board, you might find it.

It was XST in Canada...

Anybody know how XST took out his grille cross bar. I like the look of it a lot better than RS work. No disrespect. Thanks guys

IIRC, XST basically cut the bar out, and trimmed the sides down, then used a flexible 2 part epoxy (somewhat expensive I believe) designed for plastics like this to bond in some filler pieces. It was then sanded, smoothed, prepped and painted.

This (prior?) member removed the nostrils too. Without the nostrils it does look like a Ranger. Very unique modification, but ultimately I think it's downgrading the appearance of the Sport Trac to its non-SUV cousin, the Ranger.
