Hey everybody,

Long time no post. I am deployed again to the Middle East. At least I am flying this time, so that is a bonus.

Thought you all might enjoy seeing the ride that they have provided my boss and I with while we are here. It is a Ford Everest. Diesel powered and a 4X4, which is good considering my current location.

Its a lot like my old '97 Explorer, except for the manual tranny and the third row of seats. Kind of plain as far as extras, but the guys that had it before us put a CD player in it, so it is not too bad.

Pretty sure these were shipped over from the Philippines...here are some stats:

2.5L Intercooled Turbo Diesel

Dual Airbags

3 section split air-conditioning

All wheel disc brakes with ABS

Side impact bars

Limited slip differential

Interesting ride...I've only had it up to around 40 KPH as we are pretty much speed restricted on base. Talk to you all soon!!

Hey Randy:

Ditto what the others said. Thank you for your sacrifice. We pray for you and support you 100%.

That is a pretty plush ride (considering what I was imagining!). Does it have any armor?

What about the shocks and swaybar? What kind of tires?

Stay safe over here, and check six! Thanks for what you do!

I'm due to return from southern Iraq in a few weeks. We don't have any Everests where I'm at, but we have the little overseas built 4 door Rangers and B-2300s

Randy, As what those before me said, THANKS!!!. Stay safe.

Ford Everest I believe are manufactured in the Philippines for the Asian market. They used to assemble and sell the ST there too during '01 and '02, so there are a lot there, some owners are members here.

Thanks everyone for your support...we appreciate it!!

Gavin,

The Everest is driving on Michelin ATX's...stock swaybar and shocks. Really no frills, but it is a pretty good ride.
