I want to keep my oem head unit, but change out the speakers.

My choices are the Blaupunkt Overdrive (rated at 4 ohm) and Infinity Kappa (rated at 2 ohm)

Both are 2 way full range speakers

Ive used both of them before with aftermarket head units, but dont know if one would be better with the current set up

Does anyone know what the head unit ohm rating is?

Any other speaker ideas?

I put in Kicker brand 4ohm 6x8's and they sound excelent with the stock head unit. I just checked the backs of my original speakers and they are rated at 4ohm. So I'd say the stock unit is 4ohm. Sorry for taking so long to answer your question.;)

Thats right they are 4 ohms (stock). I too have the kickers in my truck. Great Choice! I have since changed the head unit and went to the Clarion Joyride unit and the speakers sound even better!

Well, if you hook 2-2 ohm in series, then you could have 4 ohms, and double the # of speakers.

But I would probably stick with 4 ohm.
