Double din touchscreen headunits

Anyone know why double din TV's/touchscreen headunits will not fit in an 01-05 ST? Crutchfield is saying that all of the touchscreen style receivers will not fit. They are double din so what gives?



Any pics of a unit installed, I am assuming it may need a little trimming?

What gives is this, the ST radio isn't double DIN in size. It's more like 1.75 DIN in size.



Most all of them will fit, with a small amount of trimming.

I have the Alpine D-Din and all that I had to do to make it fit was trim the upper and lower plastic tabs. After that it slides in nice and easy.
