Before I took the door panel off to see if the best thing that could have happened (speaker wire unplugged) was my issue I thought I would throw out a post to see if there were other issues such as a channel going out on the stereo or something else to check before breaking down the door. Thanks for your help

Could be the harness where it comes into the door. Swap a speaker from another door and try that. Ford has unique plugs for their speakers, so if you have to replace the speaker, you will end up either splicing in spade terminals or cutting off the OEM plug and putting spades on unless you buy the adapters (crutchfield has them and includes them with new speakers).

Could be that the speaker is just shot also....

I just replaced mine with Infinity reference Series speakers, what an improvement in the sound.

Mine has just started doing the same thing. I've noticed that you can play or squeeze the rubber hose in between the door and the cab and it comes back on. Sounds kinda like it has a short in it, but I'm thinking its a loose connection. May also be some kind of connector where the door and cab meet. I hate to take the door panel off for such a small job. i'm always afraid of a rattle or something breaking turning into a bigger problem. If you figure it out before I do please post a fix...

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful...
