I just got my check engine light read and got the P0302 code, called my mechanic and the earliest he can get me in is May 18th. I only have a 1+ mile commute, so I don't need to drive much, but I do need to drive over the next couple of weeks. Am I going to cause undue damage, or just take it easy and should be fine?

Well, if anyone else runs into this issue, in my case the CEL was intermittent and seemed to come on when highway driving, but if staying local it would eventually go off, so it seemed safe enough to drive one. Apparently I was right, no issues and now with new plugs, boots and a replaced ignition coil on cylinder 2 the truck is running as good or better than it has since I've owned it. I'm at just about 170k miles, bought the truck with 128k, and as far as I know the plugs may have been original to the truck. 2007 V8 4X4 Ltd.
